A former TD Waterhouse registered representative has been banned from registering in any capacity with the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada.

IIROC announced on Friday a ban on approval of registration against Antonio Cornacchia, a former registered rep who worked in the Woodbridge Branch of TD Waterhouse Canada Inc. Cornacchia admitted to three violations:

• In November 2005, he used a cheque signed by a client for an improper purpose, to pay another client

• From January to August 2006, he transferred funds from various client accounts to other client accounts, without the clients’ full knowledge or consent

• In August 2006, he caused a phony account to be opened in a client’s name without the client’s knowledge or consent

Cornacchia is no longer a registrant with an IIROC regulated firm.
