The Manitoba District Council of the Investment Dealers Association has imposed discipline penalties on Heather Stefanson, at the relevant time a suspended registered rep with Wellington West Capital Inc.

On March 7, 2002, the Manitoba District Council considered, reviewed and accepted a Settlement Agreement negotiated between Stefanson and IDA staff.

Pursuant to a settlement agreement with IDA staff, Stefanson admitted that, between Feb. 15, 1999 and Sept. 15, 1999, she engaged in conduct unbecoming a registered representative by acting in furtherance of trades while her status as a registered representative was suspended for failure to meet educational requirements.

Stefanson must pay a fine of $3,000. In addition, she must re-write and pass the examination based on the Conduct and Practices Handbook, and pay $1,500 towards the IDA’s investigation costs.
