Goodreid Investment Counsel Corp. today announced the appointment of Tony Brebner as chairman of Goodreid.
Brebner is well-known in the investment business, having been a founding shareholder of Laketon Investment Management 26 years ago, and subsequently president, CEO, and chairman of Laketon.
Graduating with an MBA from the University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business 36 years ago, Brebner began his career in the financial services business, first with a small brokerage house and then in venture capital and the precursor firm of Laketon
Brebner has been an advisor to the Ontario Ministries of Industry & Trade and Finance. He was a founding director of The Idea Corp., chairman of P.C. Ontario Fund, and is a director of a number of private Canadian companies.
In concert with his appointment, Brebner and Goodreid have purchased Laketon’s private client business which will be integrated with Goodreid’s wealth management group.
