The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) seeking members for its seniors expert advisory committee, the regulator announced on Tuesday.

The committee provides advice to OSC staff on how policy, and other developments, may impact senior investors. It also supplies input on the commission’s investor education and outreach activities.

Earlier this year, the OSC launched its seniors strategy, which aims to help focus the regulator’s efforts on the specific needs of senior investors.

Will the OSC deliver for seniors?

The committee, which is chaired by Tyler Fleming, director of the OSC’s Investor Office,  consists of representatives from the legal, medical and academic communities, along with investment industry and seniors advocates. Members serve a one-year term, meeting four to six times during the year.

Applications are due by July 31.
