Former Star Data Systems Inc. president and CEO Alan Hutton will assume the same roles at FundSERV Inc., the Toronto-based mutual fund transaction network in early August.

The appointment, as yet unannounced, ends a search by a FundSERV committee that originally planned to fill the vacancy by March with its choice moving in by the end of April. That search process followed the resignation of then CEO Arden Cornford in January.

Hutton headed back-office supplier Star Data from January 1996 until its takeover by technology consulting firm CGI Group Inc., first announced last December.
