(November 18 – 17:00 ET) -The Canadian Dealing Network today reported a new annual trading record. Volume reported as of last night’s close was 2,985,175,438 shares, surpassing the previous record of 2,975,886,218 set in 1997.

“CDN is Canada’s fastest growing junior market,” said Kevan Cowan, director of CDN in a prepared statement. “This is great news as we get set to integrate with the new Canadian Venture Exchange (CDNX) in 2000 following the completion of the merger between the Alberta and Vancouver Exchanges on November 29.”

The new CDNX should provide investors across Canada with increased liquidity and a larger more active market in which to buy and sell shares, while creating a broader
market for junior companies seeking capital.
