An American professional association has assembled a volunteer force to respond to financial questions from survivors and family members of the victims of the tragic events on September 11.
Questions about insurance, investments, estate issues, employee benefits and tax considerations may be submitted via the Web site for the Society of Financial Service Professionals, based in Pennsylvania.
A panel of experts will answer the questions.
The free service will offer timely information on financial issues and options for those directly affected by the recent terrorist attacks. Once a question is submitted, member volunteers will try to respond within 48 hours.
All members of the Society are credentialed financial service professionals who have earned one or more professional designations, such as CLU, CFP, CPA, JD or ChFC, and adhere to the Society’s strict code of ethical conduct.
“All of our members were deeply, terribly saddened by the horrible events and loss of life in New York, Washington, DC and Pennsylvania,” said Bruce Bare, Jr., president of the SFSP. “Many of us have made financial donations to the funds that will help the victims’ families, but it left us wondering what more we could do. We believe that the best we can do is to give of ourselves, to do what we do best. We hope that by providing this assistance, we can help lighten the load of some people who, right now, are carrying a very heavy and difficult burden.”
