(February 20 – 10:15 ET) – A new interactive CD from Clarica aims to help expectant parents with everything short of actually delivering the baby. The CD-ROM is now available free through Clarica agents and at www.clarica.com to help prospective parents prepare for the new arrival.
The goal of the “Baby CD” is to reduce the potential stress many expectant parents experience as the delivery date draws near. The CD includes planning software, checklists, Web site links, and other tools that walk expectant parents through every aspect of baby planning.
To complement the baby planning content, Clarica has customized the CD to include financial planning tools such as a net worth calculator and RRSP calculator. Future enhancements will include information on financial planning tools and products such as Registered Education Savings Plans.
Barbara Moore, a Clarica agent and expectant mom, has experienced the power of the CD first-hand. “My husband and I have used the baby-planning tool to learn about pre-natal health and talk to other expectant parents. It’s helped us organize and plan for the baby,” she says.
The CD is a product of LifeServ Corp., a Chicago-based interactive technology company, and is the second in a series of interactive planning tools offered free by Clarica through its agents and Web site. The first in the series, called Wedding, was introduced in November 2000 and helps engaged couples plan every detail of their wedding day. In the next few months, Clarica plans to introduce CD-ROMs that will provide planning tools and information for other special events, including buying or selling a home and raising a toddler.
Earlier this year, Clarica became the first Canadian company to partner with LifeServ, and is the exclusive provider in the retail and group markets for life and health insurance, financial planning, as well as savings and retirement products and services.
