(March 5 – 12:30 ET) – Arthur Andersen, the global professional services firm, today announced that it will be known simply as Andersen.

The firm is adopting its well-recognized and surname as its worldwide brand. The transition begins immediately.

Andersen offers a broad range of professional services in consulting, assurance, tax and corporate finance.

“Using Andersen as our global brand better aligns with our strategic commitment to continually enhance the breadth and depth of our capabilities. We want to be known for our total commitment to client service and our unique ability to provide sophisticated, integrated solutions,” said Joseph F. Berardino, managing partner — chief executive officer.

Andersen will phase out uses of Arthur Andersen in the coming months. The firm says it will make significant investments, both internally and externally, to support its strategic objectives of enhancing its capabilities and continuing to develop the Andersen brand.

“We intend to fully utilize the strength of our Andersen brand as a differentiating asset worldwide,” added Berardino.
