Toronto-based Optimize Wealth Management (OWN) announced Monday that Warren MacKenzie has joined the discretionary portfolio management firm as head of financial planning.

In this role, MacKenzie will continue to work directly with clients and their financial planning needs in addition to being in charge of the overall financial planning direction which OWN takes.

MacKenzie brings with him over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is well known for his advocacy for investor education and bringing transparency and objectivity to the financial planning industry.

He launched Weigh House Investor Services in 2004 where he provided unbiased investment advice to his clients, while uncovering hidden investment costs. He is the author of The Unbiased Advisor, Zen and The Art of Wealth, and co-author of The New Rules of Retirement and The CARP Financial Planning Guide. He is a regular contributor to various media publications.
