TMX Datalinx, the information services division of TMX Group Ltd. (TSX:X), Friday announced the launch of the daily Short Sale Summary report.
This product provides a consolidated daily summary of short selling activities, on a security level basis, for S&P/TSX Composite Index constituents trading on Toronto Stock Exchange, TMX Select and Alpha. This information is based on a trade “marker” provided by brokers at the time a short sale is made.
“The Short Sale Summary report is a unique product that provides timely Canadian short sale trading information,” said Eric Sinclair, president, TMX Datalinx and group head of information services, TMX Group.
The report provides information that may help with investment decisions. For constituents of the S&P/TSX Composite Index, it speeds up the timeliness of Canadian short sale trading information available to the investors and traders.
