Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto is partnering with the Miami-based Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists (ACFCS) to introduce training on financial crime to the college’s school of accounting and financial services.

The course is available to students, alumni of the college and professionals in the white-collar crime detection and prevention field. Those who are successful in the course are considered certified financial crime specialists (CFCS).

“The CFCS certification is an excellent fit with our fraud examination and regulatory compliance curriculum,” says Karen Murkar, chairwoman of Seneca’s school of accounting and financial services, in a statement issued on Wednesday. “We are especially delighted to inject financial crime training into our honours bachelor of commerce [for] financial services management degree beginning this academic year.”

Seneca students will have access to information and training from the association through webinars, podcasts and online, on-demand education, according to the announcement.
