Toronto-based 1832 Asset Management L.P., manager of Dynamic Funds, announced this week that Eric Benner has joined the firm as vice president and portfolio manager.

Benner will contribute his global equity expertise to Dynamic’s equity income team, led by Oscar Belaiche.

“Eric Benner has built a solid reputation for building concentrated global portfolios of quality businesses that offer sustainable dividend yields with attractive growth potential,” says Jordy Chilcott, president and CEO, Dynamic Funds, in a statement.

“His addition is an important part of Dynamic’s ability to deliver a variety of active global strategies that continue to be in demand by advisors and their clients,” Chilcott adds.

Benner has nearly 15 years of investment management experience and most recently was managing director and co-head of equities at OMERS Capital Markets, a large institutional pension manager.

He has been responsible for and has led a team of investment professionals in the construction, research, and management of several global equity portfolios.

Benner is a CFA charterholder.
