The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is looking for a new slate of lawyers to staff its Securities Proceedings Advisory Committee (SPAC), the commission announced on Thursday.

The SPAC provides input to the secretary of the OSC on policy and procedural initiatives at the regulator’s administrative tribunal.

The committee, which was created in 2013, includes 10 to 12 securities lawyers from the private sector, along with representatives from the OSC’s enforcement branch, and staff of the office of the secretary. It is chaired by Grace Knakowski, the OSC’s new secretary.

In 2015, the OSC extended the terms of the initial SPAC members; private sector members will be expected to serve three-year terms on the committee.

The committee meets three to four times a year.

Applications to join the next edition of the SPAC are due by Nov. 25.
