The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) on Friday announced the appointment of Tim Moseley as a vice chairman of the commission, effective Nov. 29, for a two-year term.

Prior to his appointment, Moseley served as an OSC commissioner and as chairman of the adjudicative committee. Previously, he was senior vice president and chief compliance officer with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. He was also manager of litigation with the OSC.

Moseley effectively replaces Monica Kowal, who left the vice chairwoman role earlier this year to become vice president compliance, wealth management, at Toronto-Dominion Bank. Grant Vingoe is the OSC’s other vice chairman.

“Tim brings a unique set of skills to the vice chair role, with his extensive securities litigation expertise, regulatory background and experience in enforcement and global business environments,” says Maureen Jensen, OSC chairwoman, in a statement.

“During his time as a commissioner, Tim has been a strong contributor to the OSC’s tribunal proceedings, and his recent adjudicative experience will allow for a seamless transition into the vice chair role.”
