Michael Doughty, president and CEO of Manulife Canada, has been elected chairman of the board of directors at Windsor, Conn.-based LL Global, Inc., the parent organization of global insurance associations LIMRA and LOMA.

LL Global announced on Monday that Doughty will succeed Rino D’Onofrio, president and CEO, RBC Life Insurance Co., as chairman for 2018.

Brandon Carter, chairman and president, USAA Life Insurance Company, was elected vice chairman of LL Global, and will succeed Doughty as chairman in 2019.

In addition, seven new members were elected to the board for three-year terms:

> Christopher Carlson, vice chairman, strategic businesses, Ohio National Financial Services, Inc.

> Michael Concannon, executive vice president, group benefits, The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc.

> William Gaumond, chief financial officer, Allianz Life Insurance Co. of North America

> Alison Reed, executive vice president, operations, Jackson National Life Distributors LLC

> Doyle Williams, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, COUNTRY Financial

> Brian Winikoff, senior executive director, head of U.S. life, retirement and wealth management, AXA Equitable Life Insurance Co.

> Ke Zhang, chief executive officer, Taiping Life Insurance

The LL Global board provides oversight and guidance to LIMRA and LOMA, ensuring that the research and education programs they create provide value to member companies.
