Toronto-based Manulife Asset Management Ltd. (MAM) announced on Thursday that it has named Jamie Robertson to the role of senior portfolio manager for the firm’s portfolio solutions group (PSG).

Robertson — who will oversee Manulife Asset Management’s Canadian asset allocation franchise, which includes portfolio management, research and development — is based in Toronto and will report to Nathan Thooft, co-head of PSG for North America.

“[Robertson] is a senior investment professional with a long history of managing asset allocation portfolios. We believe our clients and our firm will benefit from his expertise and his leadership of Canadian portfolio management across a wide range of multi-asset and multi-manager solutions,” says Thooft in a statement. “Jamie leads the PSG team in Toronto and will work closely with the other members of PSG in the U.S. and Asia.”

Robertson joins MAM from McLean and Partners Wealth Management in Calgary, at which he was chief investment officer.
