Toronto-based startup Learnedly Canada Inc. has announced the launch of a mobile training app for Canadian financial professionals.

The app will provide continuing education courses as well as prep training for two mutual fund licensing exams: the Canadian Investments Funds Course and Investment Funds in Canada.

Learnedly is also developing financial planning courses that will help students preparing for the personal financial planner or certified financial planner designations, says founder John Waldron, in statement emailed to Investment Executive.

Courses are accredited with the Institute of Advanced Financial Education, he adds.

“Our mission is to simplify financial training and remove the barriers to education for Canadian financial professionals,” Waldron says in the email. “We are achieving this by making industry training affordable, modern and convenient.”

Learnedly costs subscribers $20 a month for unlimited access to the content library, which they can stream with the Learnedly app on their Apple or Android devices.

Learnedly is looking to partner with other financial services companies to provide training content on their products or services, Waldron says.

“If a subscriber wants to evaluate different financial planning software, for example, they can explore our accredited training courses and earn education credits in the process,” he says. “If they are already using a particular software, our courses serve as a reference tool for quick access to training.”
