Winnipeg-based Investors Group Inc. has announced several changes to its mutual fund lineup. As of May 15, four funds will complete mergers: Investors Capital Yield Class into Investors Canadian Bond Fund; Investors Capital Yield Class Series 1 into iProfile Fixed Income Pool Series 1; Investors Short Term Capital Yield Class into Investors Mortgage and Short Term Income Fund; and Investors Premium Money Market Fund into Investors Canadian Money Market Fund Premium Series. The proposed mergers are intended to provide unitholders with more efficient investment management, thanks to a larger asset base and potentially greater diversification and portfolio-management opportunities. Investors Group also is seeking approval to change the investment objective of Investors Managed Yield Class to being a money market fund from a specialty fund. If approved, the fund will be renamed Investors Canadian Money Market Class. This fund is meant to provide stable current returns by investing in other money market mutual fund(s) and/or directly in Canadian money market securities. The proposed change would come into effect May 1, pending required approvals. For individual management fees, visit www.investorsgroup.com.
