Susan Wolburgh Jenah, former president and CEO of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), has been appointed to a second term on the board of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the U.S. self-regulatory organization announced on Tuesday.

Three of its public governors were appointed to second terms, FINRA says, including Wolburgh Jenah, who is now senior advisor at Aird & Berlis LLP in Toronto.

The two other public governors receiving second terms are Elisse Walter, former commissioner and chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Joshua Levine, managing director of Kita Capital Management.

FINRA also announced that Stephen Cutler, executive vice president and vice chairman at JPMorgan Chase & Co., was elected as a large firm governor, and Stephen Kohn, president and CEO, Stephen A. Kohn & Associates, Ltd., was elected as a small firm governor.

Kathleen Murphy, president of Fidelity Personal Investing, was appointed to succeed John Brennan as investment company affiliate on the FINRA board. Amy Webber, president of Cambridge Investment Research, Inc., was appointed as independent dealer/insurance affiliate governor.

FINRA is overseen by a 24-person board, including 13 public governors, along with FINRA CEO Robert Cook, and representatives from various segments of the industry. Governors are appointed or elected to three-year terms and may not serve more than two consecutive terms.

“This board reflects the breadth of talent and scope of experience in the brokerage industry, and both new and returning board members can provide invaluable vision and insights that advance FINRA’s mission,” says Cook in a statement.
