Four notable veterans of the financial services sector are among the 113 new appointments to the Order of Canada announced on Thursday.

Howard Wetston, former chairman of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), received one of Canada’s highest civilian honours, as did Kathleen Taylor, chairwoman of Royal Bank of Canada, Ned Goodman, founder of Dundee Corp., and Louis Vachon, CEO of National Bank of Canada.

Governor General David Johnston announced the latest honours list of new appointments, includes one companion of the order, 27 officers and 85 members. The appointments were made on the recommendation of the Advisory Council for the Order of Canada.

A ceremony will be held at a later date to present the recipients with their awards.
