The Canadian Foundation for Advancement of Investor Rights (FAIR Canada) has added retired securities lawyer Glorianne Stromberg to its board.

FAIR Canada says Stromberg, a former commissioner of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) and author of several seminal reports on the investment fund industry, which highlighted many of the industry’s regulatory gaps and shortcomings, has now joined its board.

At the same time, Stan Buell, founder of the Small Investors Protection Association Inc. (SIPA) has stepped down from the group’s board.

“Stan was a pioneer of investor protection in Canada, and his insight and input into FAIR Canada’s positions and activities were tremendously valuable,” says FAIR in a notice announcing the moves.
