From the Regulators

The committee provides securities regulators with insight into the mining industry

The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) on Tuesday issued a call for volunteers to serve on its Mining Technical Advisory and Monitoring Committee, which advises securities regulators on the mining industry.

The group, which comprises 10 to 12 members, meets at least twice annually via teleconference, and provides advice to the CSA on "a variety of industry and professional developments related to securities regulatory issues," the CSA announcement says.

The meetings are facilitated by the British Columbia Securities Commission and the Ontario Securities Commission.

The CSA is seeking candidates from a variety of firms, ranging from exploration companies all the way up to large-scale mining companies.

Prospective members should also be familiar with securities rules and laws. Applications are due by Oct. 6.
