Financial news and data giant Bloomberg L.P. is launching a new business news TV channel in Canada.

Bloomberg announced Thursday it will launch Bloomberg TV Canada in mid-2015, in partnership with independent Canadian media company Channel Zero.

The new channel will provide global market coverage, along with Canadian business and financial news, from the company’s 150 news bureaus in 73 countries, including six bureaus in Canada. The new channel will broadcast from a new studio in Brookfield Place in Toronto, and it also expects to deliver live coverage from the TMX Broadcast Centre at Toronto Stock Exchange.

“Canada is a vital market for us,” said Michael Bloomberg, founder and majority shareholder of Bloomberg L.P. “We look forward to providing our clients and business executives with engaging and informative television, detailing the impacts of global news on Canadian business and highlighting the newsmakers in Canada who are moving global markets.”

“Bloomberg TV Canada will benefit from Channel Zero’s expertise in news journalism and will tap into Bloomberg’s unmatched access to global business leaders,” said Cal Millar, president of Channel Zero.
