Vancouver-based market research firm Corporate Insights, has been acquired by New York-based Asset International Inc. (AI), and will become a division of its existing Canadian subsidiary, industry research firm Investor Economics.

No price was disclosed on the deal. The addition of Corporate Insights comes in the wake of AI’s acquisition by private equity firm Genstar Capital back in July. Asset International and Genstar say they intend to triple the size of the company over the next three to five years, and that growing Investor Economics is a key part of that plan.

“This acquisition is just the first step in the partnership between AI and Genstar to dramatically grow organically and through acquisitions,” said Tony Salewski, principal at Genstar.

“The combination of Investor Economics and Corporate Insights puts us in an even stronger position to serve our existing clients and strengthen our market share,” added Jim Casella, chairman and CEO of Asset International.

Earl Bederman, president of Investor Economics, said, “The specialized services provided by Corporate Insights represent a natural complement to Investor Economics’ research and consulting services … We look forward to enhancing our ability to provide our clients with the informed analysis, competitive intelligence and insights needed to enable them to better understand, manage and grow their businesses.”
